Alison Miller

Alison is a health and wellness junkie and considers herself an N of 1 experiment. Yoga has been her anchor in life and in health and she continually works to learn all she can about health and share what she’s learned. Alison is a yoga teacher, a Yoga Health Coach, a Certified Personal Trainer, and is currently working on an NASM Certification in Nutrition. But most of all, she values being a yoga student. She believes the magic in being a good teacher is to be a good student – practicing both in the studio and in her home practice.

Alison is the former owner of Yoga on Main (Mt Pleasant Hot Yoga) in Mt. Pleasant Michigan. The studio was home to hundreds of students where she learned that the key to good teaching is to have fun, both as a teacher and as a student. She believes that asana and movement are vital to calming the mind and body, but beyond that, it’s just a lot of fun to move, to learn what’s possible, and to laugh.

Alison is married, has 3 daughters, and 6 grandchildren. She grew up in Traverse City and then lived in mid-Michigan for many years. She’s thrilled to be back in Traverse City and to have an opportunity to practice, learn, teach, and have fun up north.

Yoga is the practice of meeting yourself exactly as you are. Some days that means breathing through heavy grief; other days it means welcoming quiet happiness. The healing is in allowing both.
